When picking up loads at the quarry, variations in size, color, or texture can happen from one load to the next, sometimes on the same day, based on where the quarry is mining. Rock is a natural resource, and as such, rock is not guaranteed for uniformity in size, color, or texture. There will be rocks that are smaller or larger than the stated size, particularly with river rock, due to the screening process at each vendor’s quarry. Rock sizes are approximate and based on each quarry’s description and approximate length or width of most of the rock material.
